Jim DeCesare is a family man, award-winning artist, educator, and daily fly fisherman on his home stream, the Farmington River in CT. Fishing year-round has evoked new artistic perspectives, and a deep reverence for the environment. DeCesare is a dedicated student of fly fishing, steadily growing in recent years with tactic and understanding. He has combined his passions for art and angling to create new series of work that embody the serenity, beauty and love of both. DeCesare earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Hartford Art School, a Master of Arts degree from Syracuse University, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Hartford Art School. DeCesare is a seasoned professional artist. His paintings and portraits are part of numerous art collections, both regionally and nationally. He has an ever-growing list of institutional and private commissions. DeCesare’s angling and river-themed landscape paintings are growing in popularity among collectors.
